Half Marathon 2015: Week 6

Week 6 12kmAnother week and more running. Doesn’t it take 6 weeks to form a habit? I’m not sure the habit will stick without the structure of the regular training programme but it’s feeling a bit more normal now. The inside of the car is permanently covered in grass cuttings picked up on my shoes from the grass running track at Chatswood, and I think nothing of lying down on the ground under the Harbour Bridge in front of people taking photos of the Opera House whilst stretching after the Saturday runs.

Today we were back in Kirribilli and over the bridge, way past the first week’s turn around point, past my favourite restaurant strip at Walsh Bay, past bemused Cruise Boat passengers, through the Quay, past the Opera House (and a strategic shortcut/map error going in front of it not around it), into the Botanic Gardens, for a 2 second pause and then back again. I was slower than last week but that was deliberate after going a bit too fast at the track on Wednesday night and hurting all day Thursday.

Just under two months to go now!
